Changes in society and the environment in recent years and changes in people's lives due to globalization are progressing at an unexpected rate. As a result, a variety of social issues have arisen, including increased disasters
caused by climate change, the destruction of the global environment, and the expansion of disparities on a global scale. In response to these drastic changes in the global and social environments, the United Nations
adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Sep 2015, and a number of international initiatives are underway to realize a sustainable society.
In response to these changes in the social environment, Maxell launched a new company-wide promotion organization in April 2020 with the aim of strengthening its efforts to address issues related to social and environmental
sustainability. Then, in July 2020, we redefined our mission to "contribute to a sustainable society through the pursuit of innovation in original technologies," and in August 2020, we formulated the "Corporate Sustainability
Vision."
In 1961, Maxell started up a high-performance dry cell battery as a founding product in order to make people's lives more convenient and richer, as portable radios and other electric appliances become smaller and wireless.
Since then, we have continued to create "value" that makes people's lives more affluent and convenient through recording media and other products in line with changes in people's lifestyles and needs.
Going forward, the Maxell Group will continue to provide the highest value (Maximum Excellence) to all stakeholders, including employees, customers, business partners, shareholders, investors,
and local communities, by strengthening its efforts to realize a sustainable society. We will strive to strengthen our sustainability management with the aim of becoming a "always-in-the-future" company, which is indispensable
in a sustainable society.
