In September 1960 company established as Maxell Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. And in 1961 company started business including dry battery and magnetic tape divisions of Nitto Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (present name Nitto Denko Corporation)
(In January 1964 company name was changed to Hitachi Maxell, Ltd. In October 2017 company name was changed to Maxell Holdings, Ltd., following the transition to holding company structure. In October 2021 company name was changed to Maxell, Ltd., following dissolution of holding company structure.)

Listed in November 1977 and delisted in March 2010. Relisted in March 2014.
