Compounding machine for positive electrode mixture (grinder), 1950

Machine for mixing of manganese dioxide, graphite, acetylene black, ammonium chloride and electrolyte to make positive electrode mixture.
It was a valuable machine for compounding, particularly for laminated dry batteries, because of its high-density blend. Since the establishment of Maxell division of Nitto Denki Kogyo in 1950, we have been active for about 10 years since our founding in 1961.

Fine Coating

Magnetic tape coater, 1965

A machine that uniformly coats the base films of tapes with mixing and dispersion of fine magnetic particles.
The thickness of the coating in the early days of the compact cassette was 18-20μm, and this coating machine realized a tape of 12μm in thickness, creating a cassette tape "C-90" with 90-minute recording. It was a machine with state-of-the-art performance at that time.

High Precision Molding & Forming

Combination molding machine for laminated dry batteries (tablet machine), 1951

A machine for forming powdered cathode blends compounding by a compounding machine for cathode blends into a flat form.
At the time of its foundation, the company used a single-piece wooden mold for manual hand pressing. In 1951, the company introduced this tablet machine, which enabled the automatic feeding and automatic molding of powder-like additives, and contributed to the molding of a variety of laminated dry batteries.
